About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Biotechnology, is looking for a skilled Senior Laboratory Operations Specialist to join their team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves coordinating and supporting multiple laboratory and associated warehouse areas, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, and managing inventory and equipment lifecycles. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and support multiple laboratories, including ownership of associated warehouse areas, performing glassware washing, and media/buffer preparation.
- Manage day-to-day operations and proactively perform troubleshooting and problem-solving, acting as a highly customer-service oriented point of contact for bench scientists.
- Execute cross-functional processes such as equipment installation, collaborating with engineering, facilities, suppliers, and procurement.
- Oversee inventory management, including purchasing, maintaining, storing, and allocating lab equipment and supplies.
- Provide direction to peers when needed, complete assignments in a timely fashion, and propose process improvements.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar laboratory operations or specialist role.
- Deep expertise in laboratory operations, including inventory management, equipment installation, and maintaining laboratory infrastructure. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with working on issues with a complex and diverse scope in a matrixed organization.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team and anticipate the needs of the customer base.
