Title:  Senior Technical Product Manager - Operations Software (Robot Startup)
Job Type:  Contract
Contract Length:  6+ months
Pay Range: ~90-95/hr
Start Date:  ASAP
Location:  Hybrid in Foster City, CA

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in Autonomous Mobility/Robotics, is looking for a skilled Senior Technical Product Manager - Operations Software  to join their team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves stewarding a software product line to build the tools needed for Fleet Operations, including Base Operations and Mission Readiness, responsible for maintenance and repair of their autonomous robots to ensure peak performance. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Tool Development: Helping to build the necessary software tools for Operations teams.
  • Product Strategy: Stewarding a software product line and curating its roadmap.
  • Feature Management: Working closely with Design, Engineering, and Technical Program Managers to refine and prioritize features and requirements.
  • Metrics Definition: Helping to define metrics that measure the health and performance of the systems.
  • Product Automation (Launchpad): Leading the product development to identify and automate service start-up checks, creating requirements for engineering teams to develop, test, and release the functionality.
  • Remote Management Tools: Building tools and adjusting the supervisor view to remotely manage charging and startup processes for multiple depots and robots across locations.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 8+ years of experience in product management.
  • Deep expertise in product-lifecycle management and a technical background to understand software development concepts such as back-end systems, web apps APIs, and technical tradeoffs. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, with a desire to figure out how to make things better.
  • Experience with driving collaboration, alignment, and affecting outcomes with influence instead of authority.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
