Senior Technical Project Manager – Supply Chain / Source-to-Pay

Overview

Lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that improve the systems and processes supporting Supply Chain and Source-to-Pay operations. This senior-level role will help optimize a procurement technology ecosystem, address platform functionality and user experience challenges, and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical program management expertise with business and product-oriented thinking. You will work across engineering, procurement, supply chain, finance, and other business teams to bring structure to complex initiatives, manage competing priorities, and drive programs from planning through execution. Success in this role requires a hands-on, highly organized leader who can influence without direct authority and operate effectively in a fast-changing environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Approximately 10 years of experience in technical program management, technology project management, or complex enterprise technology delivery.
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional technology programs involving both engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Jira Cloud, including:
  • Setting up and organizing projects and programs.
  • Breaking initiatives into milestones, deliverables, and actionable workstreams.
  • Tracking dependencies, risks, issues, and progress.
  • Maintaining accurate, organized, and actionable project documentation.
  • Experience managing risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID).
  • Strong understanding of the distinction between project and program management, including how initiatives align with broader portfolio objectives.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into actionable technical deliverables.
  • Ability to create, refine, and maintain business requirements documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate challenging stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate difficult situations.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives forward with limited direction.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to understand technical discussions, system integrations, dependencies, and business requirements.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Coupa, particularly in procurement or Source-to-Pay environments.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and enterprise system integrations.
  • Understanding of Source-to-Pay processes and related procurement, finance, and supply chain workflows.
  • Experience with enterprise platform implementations, post-implementation optimization, or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working closely with engineering organizations to translate business needs into technical execution plans.
  • Exposure to product management methodologies and practices.
  • Experience optimizing platform functionality, workflows, processes, and user experiences.
  • Familiarity with OKRs and aligning technology initiatives with organizational objectives.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Preferred educational background is not specified in the provided job details.
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in technical program management, technology project management, enterprise technology delivery, or a closely related field.
  • Experience supporting enterprise platforms, integrations, or Supply Chain and Source-to-Pay technology initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Direct Coupa experience is a significant advantage but is not required.

Other Requirements

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid.
  • Location: Sunnyvale, California, with the ability to work onsite approximately two to three days per week as needed.
  • Candidates should be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams, including East Coast stakeholders, which may require occasional early-morning meetings.
  • Initial contract duration is six months, with the potential for extension.
  • This is a senior-level engagement requiring an experienced, independent contributor.
