Signal Integrity Engineer

Join a dynamic hardware team as a Signal Integrity & Packaging Engineer, where your expertise will drive innovation in high-speed electronic design. In this critical role, you will lead end-to-end signal integrity analysis for complex system architectures, including PCB layouts, chip packages, and substrates. Collaborate with a talented, multidisciplinary team to optimize high-speed interfaces and ensure top-tier performance in next-generation electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive signal integrity analysis across system components, substrates, and PCB designs.
  • Build and extract 3D electromagnetic models for package boards, substrates, and interconnect channels.
  • Perform eye diagram assessments, jitter analysis, insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk evaluations.
  • Analyze simulation reports to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend design improvements.
  • Apply foundational knowledge of board stack-up and routing to enhance pre-silicon design phases.
  • Optional: Assist with post-silicon lab validation, measurement correlation, and model refinement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in Signal Integrity and Packaging analysis.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard SI tools, specifically Ansys HFSS, Ansys SIwave, and Keysight ADS.
  • Strong background in high-speed interface design, including PCIe, UCIe, and SerDes.
  • Solid understanding of PCB stack-up strategies, materials, and routing principles.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ocean/SKILL for automation.
  • Hands-on familiarity with lab characterization equipment like VNAs, TDRs, and high-speed oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to integrate measurement data with simulation models for correlation and validation.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related fields.
  • Extensive practical experience in signal integrity, high-speed design, and modeling preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position offers flexible remote or hybrid work options (Boston/MV or San Jose, CA).
  • No travel is explicitly required, but flexibility for on-site collaboration may be beneficial.
  • Certifications or additional training in high-speed or RF electronics are advantageous.

This role is pivotal for advancing cutting-edge electronic systems, offering an exciting opportunity for seasoned Signal Integrity Engineers to influence the future of high-speed connectivity.
