Software Developer in Test

Overview
Join a System Integration and Validation team focused on building reliable, scalable automation for safety-critical tools. As a Software Developer in Test, you will design and enhance integration automation frameworks, develop comprehensive functional and regression testing, and help reduce manual testing across product-level systems used by a customer fleet.
This role offers the opportunity to shape automation strategy, improve test coverage, investigate complex defects, and collaborate with developers, QA leads, and product managers to validate features across development, staging, and production environments.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience as a Software Developer in Test, including experience developing automation frameworks and automated tests
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages:
- Kotlin
- Java
- Swift
- Python
- Experience designing test automation frameworks and applying test automation design patterns
- Hands-on experience with API testing
- Experience developing, maintaining, and expanding Playwright automation test cases
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency with tools such as PyTest, JIRA, Git, and CI/CD platforms
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud applications
- Experience working with AI tools and AI agents
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and nginx
- Ability to document test results, maintain requirements traceability, and track issues through resolution
- Strong collaboration and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, reproduce, and verify defects across multiple environments

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
- 4+ years of professional experience in software development in test, test automation, or a closely related field
- Experience building scalable integration automation frameworks and robust regression suites
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a mocking framework for backend services to reduce mobile application testing dependencies
- Architect, maintain, and improve scalable test automation frameworks
- Develop and expand Playwright automation coverage to improve regression testing efficiency
- Design and implement functional and integration tests for product-level systems
- Conduct vehicle mission testing and provide detailed reporting and analysis of mission outcomes
- Use AI tools to improve testing processes and automation
- Support ZPT triage by identifying, reproducing, and verifying defects across development, staging, and production environments
- Partner with developers, QA leads, and product managers to support feature validation readiness and test completeness
- Document test results, maintain traceability to requirements, and track issues through closure
- Contribute to continuous process and automation improvements within the QA organization
