Position Overview:
As a Software Release Engineer, you will be integral to ensuring the reliability and performance of software releases for advanced automotive systems. Your expertise will support simulation testing, validation, and release operations, enabling the deployment of safe, high-quality autonomous driving software. This role offers a dynamic environment where technical excellence and agility are essential to success.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in release or test engineering
- Proven experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) bench testing or advanced simulation platforms
- Strong ability to analyze logs, sensor data, and video files for issue triage
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills
- Proficiency with GIT version control
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional travel, if needed
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with simulation and visualization tools like Foxglove Studio, SUMO, or similar
- Experience working within an ASPICE framework
- Scripting skills in Python or other languages relevant to test automation
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience in test automation, simulation, or release engineering, especially within autonomous vehicle development
Other Requirements:
- This is a contract position with an expected duration from 07/01/2026 to 09/30/2026, with potential extension
- Location options include Ann Arbor, MI or Palo Alto, CA
- The role is onsite; remote work is not specified
- Must be open to occasional travel if required by project needs
