About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the Pharmaceutical industry, is looking for a skilled Spotfire Developer to join their team for a 12-month engagement with potential for extension. This project involves supporting new visual analytics initiatives for scientific and research teams by building data-driven Spotfire dashboards and integrating multiple data sources. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly, with a critical focus on a hybrid onsite presence to collaborate directly with lab personnel.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Dashboard Development: Develop new TIBCO Spotfire dashboards (not maintenance) from concept through deployment, including visualization design, data modeling, and backend logic.
- Data Integration & Query Optimization: Integrate Spotfire with multiple databases (Snowflake, Postgres, Oracle), including establishing data connections and optimizing queries.
- Advanced Functionality: Write and implement IronPython scripts, custom expressions, and information links to support advanced dashboard functionality.
- Data Curation: Conduct data preparation, curation, and transformation to ensure datasets are ready for visualization and meet scientific business needs.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Partner directly with scientists and R&D stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows, and iterate on dashboard designs.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 3–6 years of experience as a Spotfire Developer or similar analytics visualization role.
- Deep expertise in TIBCO Spotfire, including Dashboard design/development, IronPython scripting, Custom expressions, and Information links. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with Life sciences industry experience is required, with the ability to understand scientific or assay-related data and terminology. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling, and hands-on experience with Python (including IronPython within Spotfire).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with scientists and stakeholders in a hybrid/on-site environment.
