Senior Cost Accountant

Role Overview:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory cost data, maintaining standard costs, and supporting the company’s financial health with your expertise in cost control and analysis. Working closely with operations and management, you will review and update costs, perform month-end closing activities, analyze variances, and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will directly impact the company's manufacturing efficiency and profitability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of cost accounting experience within a standard cost manufacturing environment
- Advanced proficiency with MRP II systems and Oracle ERP software
- Strong expertise in Excel and Word
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently with excellent problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience with inventory valuation, standard cost updates, and inventory management
- Ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets, identify obsolete inventory, and perform variance analysis
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in a manufacturing setting involving tiered pricing and purchasing patterns
- Knowledge of manufacturing overhead and labor rate reviews
- Prior experience with audit preparation and working with external auditors
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience working on projects involving SOP creation and process improvements
Other Requirements:
- This position is fully onsite in Livermore, CA
- Candidates must be comfortable working in an environment with evolving SOPs and processes
- Attention to accuracy and the ability to work under tight deadlines is essential
- No travel required
