Job Type: Contract - W2
Contract Length: 1 year
Target Start Date: ASAP
Work Location/Structure: Remote EST

About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Global Technology and Solutions, is looking for a skilled  Sr. DevOps Engineer  to join their team for a 1-year engagement. This project involves assisting their software teams on a critical, long-term project to migrate to a new GitHub Enterprise platform, including a new Managed User organization. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the migration of software teams' repositories and users into a new GitHub Enterprise Managed User organization, serving as the primary point of contact for these teams.
  • Automating software deployment processes by developing expert-level Python tools that run locally, within Docker containers, and in AWS Lambda.
  • Collaboratively working to research, design, implement, deploy, and operate systems, with a focus on improving code releases and deployment planning.
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in development, test, and production environments and processes, coordinating to increase effectiveness.
  • Refining operating environments by continuously improving the infrastructure to be easily deployable and scalable.
Required Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Deep expertise in Git, GitHub (including Organization and Enterprise Administration, Managed Users), GitHub Actions, and GitHub Copilot. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, with an adeptness for project-style ways of working.
  • Experience with Agile methodology, the software development lifecycle, and automation tools for developing digital pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and collaborate across various lines of business and senior stakeholders.
