Senior Payroll Specialist (Part-Time)

Overview:
Join an innovative leader in the aerospace and orbital transportation industry as a Senior Payroll Specialist. This dynamic, part-time role offers a unique opportunity for experienced payroll professionals to manage complex multi-state payroll operations from the comfort of your home. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll processing for a growing organization, with the chance to cross-train with a retiring expert, ensuring seamless transition and long-term growth potential.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience managing full-cycle, multi-state payroll for approximately 60 employees across multiple states
  • Strong proficiency with UKG (Ultipro), ADP, or similar payroll platforms
  • Hands-on experience processing RSUs (Restricted Stock Units) and ESPPs (Employee Stock Purchase Plans)
  • Expertise in 401(k) administration and reporting, specifically with Franklin Templeton
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work Pacific Time hours during scheduled payroll processing days
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency due to federal regulations in the aerospace sector
  • Experience working within a public company environment

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of UKG Ready and NetSuite
  • Experience establishing payroll operations in new states
  • Familiarity with ad-hoc payroll and accounting projects

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience in payroll administration within a multi-state, public company setting

Other Requirements:

  • This position is fully remote, requiring access to a reliable internet connection
  • Must be available to work approximately 10 hours weekly, with flexibility based on payroll calendar fluctuations
  • Long-term growth opportunity, with potential to increase hours and transition to full-time
  • No travel required
