Sr Productivity Platform Developer - Asana
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Productivity Platform Developer and become the driving force behind optimizing and scaling our organization's use of the Asana platform. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the primary architect and technical owner of the platform, shaping how teams plan, track, and deliver their work. Your expertise will ensure an intuitive, secure, and highly efficient environment that empowers teams to operate at their best, with streamlined workflows, automation, and governance.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and oversee the architecture, governance, and configuration of the Asana platform across the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design scalable workflows supporting campaigns, operational processes, and cross-team projects.
- Manage platform security, integrations, automations, and user provisioning in line with enterprise standards.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics to measure platform adoption and efficiency.
- Lead training and enablement initiatives, fostering self-sufficient teams and continuous improvement.
- Act as the go-to expert for complex platform issues, coordinating support and preventive enhancements.
Required Skills:
- 3–5+ years in enterprise IT, SaaS administration, or enterprise application engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience managing Asana for a large-scale organization (1000+ users), including global configuration and governance.
- Deep expertise in core and advanced Asana features such as organization structure, custom fields, rules, templates, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of identity and access management, including SSO/SAML, SCIM, and integrations with Okta or Entra ID.
- Proficiency with APIs, RESTful webhooks, scripting in Python, JavaScript, or similar, and workflow automation platforms like Workato or Zapier.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong communication skills to lead trainings, create documentation, and foster cross-team alignment.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience rolling out or maturing Asana and Unito in fast-growth, cloud-native, or engineering-driven organizations.
- Knowledge of SaaS governance, change management, and release processes.
- Familiarity with data and analytics tools such as Tableau for reporting and capacity planning.
- Exposure to security and compliance frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, SOX, or GDPR.
- Certifications or expertise in adjacent areas like ITIL, project management, or business analysis.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 3+ years of relevant experience managing enterprise SaaS platforms, with hands-on Asana administration.
Other Requirements:
- Location preference for desking in Belleview, Sunnyvale, or Dallas, with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days onsite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Commitment to maintaining security and compliance standards, including working closely with security teams for integrations and access controls.
