Staff Accountant Consultant (Remote, Part-Time or Full-Time)

This fully remote role offers a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity—either part-time (20-30 hours/week) or full-time—tailored to your availability. You will play a vital role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, optimizing billing processes, and leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to streamline operations.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff, handle critical accounting activities such as accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations, and troubleshoot customer billing discrepancies. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure accurate financial records and efficient billing workflows, directly impacting the company's growth in the innovative Cannabis Payments space.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2+ years of practical accounting experience
- Strong proficiency with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Hands-on experience with customer billing and resolving billing issues
- Expertise in QuickBooks
- Hands-on experience using Claude AI or similar AI tools for research, troubleshooting, and process improvements
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and responsiveness
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with bank reconciliations
- Knowledge of payments, fintech, or financial services industries
- Familiarity with the cannabis industry
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or technology company
