About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is looking for a skilled Supply Chain Materials Manager for Direct Procurement to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves supporting the Operations teams to ensure the smooth flow of materials throughout the product development and manufacturing process. This role involves end-to-end material management, including planning, procurement, inventory control, material flow optimization, and supplier coordination. This is a high-impact role that requires a highly organized, data-driven, and experienced professional in managing supply chain operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaboration & Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, Logistics, Engineering) to understand overall demand, share forecasts with the suppliers, track supplier readiness for on-time delivery, and report internally to support planning.
- Supplier Management: Monitor supplier lead times and ensure order coverage based on demand and lead time. Review supplier input/output (IO) plans, identify material risks, develop mitigation plans with cross-functional support and escalate to leadership where required.
- Operational Issue Resolution: Resolve operational issues related to PO coverage, invoicing, and master data management in the ERP system.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Track and report key performance metrics, including material availability, on-time delivery, and delivery accuracy.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts by ensuring material alignment with development timelines and production ramps.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 4-6 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Deep expertise in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex datasets for informed decision-making. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Experience with ERP systems.
