About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is looking for a skilled  Supply Chain Materials Manager  for Direct Procurement to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves supporting the Operations teams to ensure the smooth flow of materials throughout the product development and manufacturing process. This role involves end-to-end material management, including planning, procurement, inventory control, material flow optimization, and supplier coordination. This is a high-impact role that requires a highly organized, data-driven, and experienced professional in managing supply chain operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaboration & Planning:  Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, Logistics, Engineering) to understand overall demand, share forecasts with the suppliers, track supplier readiness for on-time delivery, and report internally to support planning.
  • Supplier Management:  Monitor supplier lead times and ensure order coverage based on demand and lead time. Review supplier input/output (IO) plans, identify material risks, develop mitigation plans with cross-functional support and escalate to leadership where required.
  • Operational Issue Resolution:  Resolve operational issues related to PO coverage, invoicing, and master data management in the ERP system.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting:  Track and report key performance metrics, including material availability, on-time delivery, and delivery accuracy.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Support:  Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts by ensuring material alignment with development timelines and production ramps.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
