Our client is a pioneering technology firm developing a comprehensive physical intelligence platform.
This position is designed for someone with a strong technical accounting background who wants to transition into a broad, leadership-track operational role within a disruptive startup environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Accounting Lifecycle: Lead the month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring all financial data is accurate and GAAP-compliant.
- External Resource Management: Manage the relationship and output of third-party accounting firms handling daily transactional tasks.
- Technical Research & Policy: Draft internal whitepapers on complex accounting treatments and lead the implementation of new standards (Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting, etc.).
- Financial Reporting: Own the production of internal management reports and the preparation of annual audited financial statements.
- Global & Operational Growth: Support the setup of international entities, manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and refine the billing/collections cycle.
- Strategic Partnership: Work alongside the FP&A department on budget-to-actual analysis and assist the Controller with high-level projects related to the company’s expansion.
Candidate Profile
- Academic Background: Degree in a relevant financial discipline.
- Professional Track Record: Either 7+ years experience with a Big4 (or public accounting) start to your career.
- Technical Depth: Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and its application to complex business models.
Preferred Experience (Non-Mandatory)
- Certification: Active CPA.
- Industry Specifics: Prior work involving Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) , Robotics-as-a-Service , or complex hardware manufacturing.
- Specialized Topics: Accounting for R&D capitalization, cloud infrastructure costs, or multi-state tax filings.
- Scale-Up Experience: Direct involvement in Initial Public Offering (IPO) readiness or major ERP system migrations.
- Process Improvement: A natural inclination toward automating manual workflows and building scalable finance stacks.
