About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in the FinTech industry, is looking for a skilled Technical Program Manager to join their team for a 6-12 month engagement. This project involves leading a portfolio of initiatives through ideation, strategy, planning, delivery, and launch, as well as managing the intake process for new initiatives and issues. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a portfolio of initiatives through ideation, strategy, planning, delivery, and launch.
  • Leading the intake process for all new initiatives and issues, working collaboratively across teams to assess feasibility, prioritize requests, and onboard programs into the portfolio.
  • Managing the delivery of specific initiatives, creating and maintaining a project schedule by identifying and monitoring overall project timeline/milestones, tasks, resources, task dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Partnering with Technology Leaders and other teams to ensure effective management of technology issues.
  • Consulting with business partners to clarify and define complex project requirements and business cases to align with strategic objectives.
  • Creating dashboards and reporting to track project progress supported by metrics.
  • Taking full responsibility for generating and maintaining accurate weekly status reports, synthesizing progress, key decisions, and next steps.
  • Coordinating meetings, as needed, to initiate working sessions, resolve project issues, and manage and resolve escalations.
  • Collaborating closely with technology leaders to ensure proper alignment of resources to current and future programs based on priorities and capacity.
  • Managing all activities in a project life cycle (initiation planning, executing/controlling, and closing) associated with high visibility projects that are long-term, across one or more lines of business and have a substantial impact on the business.
  • Maintaining thorough and organized management of all project artifacts, including plans, documentation, and decision logs, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to accurately scope programs, define deliverables, identify dependencies, and establish realistic schedules.
  • Managing all activities and ceremonies in SAFe (Scaled Agile).
  • Coordinating with Product Management on requirements, planning, and prioritization.
  • Aggressively managing dependencies and impact, coordinating with other groups, and removing obstacles that stand between the team and business & customer success.
  • Formulating project presentations for executive leadership on project status and decisions.
  • Providing transparency and communication across the program team and among stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 7+ years of technical program management experience and a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or a related field of study; or equivalent work experience.
  • SAFe or Scrum certification required.
  • Proven Technical Program Management experience handling complex projects, program implementation, or change management experience.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment.
  • Attentive to details and highly organized, with strong independent planning and process management skills.
  • Ability to execute on multiple strategic initiatives while interacting with various internal stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you must take on multiple responsibilities and do what it takes to get things done.
  • Fintech, Financial Services, or Technology experience.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Deep experience with Agile and Waterfall technology approaches a plus.
  • Previous experience driving large technical operations, IT, or platform transformational projects a plus.
  • Previous experience working with risk management and audit functions as part of project delivery/implementation a plus.
