About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry, is looking for a skilled Test Engineer  to join their Product Software QA team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves testing the mission-critical web application "Baseline," bridging the gap between software validation and physical vehicle systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, navigate complex environments, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Automation & Manual Testing: Develop, maintain, and expand Playwright automation test cases to enhance regression coverage, while performing manual testing for features, releases, hotfixes, and pre-merge validations.
  • Vehicle Mission Testing: Conduct vehicle mission testing, evaluate workflows from an operations perspective, and provide detailed reporting on mission outcomes.
  • Triage & Troubleshooting: Support defect triage by identifying, reproducing, and verifying issues across Dev, Staging, and Production environments, utilizing vehicle troubleshooting workflows.
  • Bug Reporting: Translate complex technical and hardware issues into concise, well-structured bug reports with clear reproduction steps for developers and stakeholders.
  • Release Ownership: Provide QA sign-off for release readiness, maintain rigorous traceability to requirements, and track issues to closure.
  • Process Innovation: Partner with cross-functional teams to improve QA processes, enhance efficiency, and utilize AI-augmented tools to challenge the status quo.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 1–3 years of experience as a QA/Test Engineer with proven skills in testing large-scale, complex applications.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Strong working experience with industry-standard testing and tracking tools like JIRA and TestRail.
  • Proficiency in UDS, CAN, and Ethernet communication protocols with hands-on experience in vehicle troubleshooting workflows.
  • Familiarity with AV components including LiDAR, radar, cameras, and EV powertrain systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and bug reports.
