Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer
Overview
Take ownership of vehicle dynamics performance for an innovative robot platform and help shape a vehicle experience built around ride quality, responsiveness, controllability, confidence, and occupant trust. This role combines high-fidelity simulation, physical testing, vehicle integration, and cross-functional engineering collaboration to guide development across ride, handling, NVH, loads cascade, vehicle controls, CAE, and other vehicle integration attributes.
You will have the opportunity to bring creativity and technical leadership to a fast-paced startup environment while making a meaningful impact on the final product. This is a one-year, onsite opportunity in Foster City, California.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in vehicle dynamics performance development and simulation
- Experience developing and maintaining high-fidelity multibody vehicle dynamics models using MSC Adams
- Experience with vehicle dynamics CAE development tools, including:
- MSC Adams
- CarMaker
- MATLAB/Simulink
- Knowledge of dynamics CAE-to-test correlation
- Ability to generate suspension, full-vehicle, and powertrain loads according to established processes
- Ability to develop vehicle dynamics metrics and targets using physical test and CAE data
- Experience correlating simulation results with vehicle or subsystem measurements
- Ability to collaborate with design teams and supplier partners to improve component performance for ride and handling
- Ability to support performance balancing across vehicle integration attributes and software controls development
- Ability to support active safety performance development and validation
