Web Developer (Content Author / Web Designer)

Overview

Join a global web team supporting timely, high-quality content publishing across websites serving audiences in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. As a Web Developer focused on content authoring and web design, you’ll update web content, assemble pages using established components and building blocks, and manage routine publishing activities across multiple global sites.

This junior-to-mid-level opportunity is ideal for a proactive, communicative professional who can work independently, collaborate effectively across time zones, and bring strong attention to detail to day-to-day web operations. This is not a full-stack software engineering role; success will come from confidently working with existing web structures and components rather than building applications from scratch.

Required Skills

  • Experience with web content updates, page assembly, or web design.
  • Ability to work with existing web components, templates, and building blocks.
  • Basic familiarity with reading and reusing code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent English proficiency.
  • High level of self-management and organization.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and completing work independently.
  • Ability to manage routine publishing activities accurately across multiple global websites.
  • Willingness to receive feedback, learn established processes, and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience supporting websites across multiple regions or international markets.
  • Familiarity with content management systems or digital publishing platforms.
  • Experience working with global or distributed web teams.
  • Exposure to HTML, CSS, or other web technologies.
  • Experience assembling pages from pre-existing components rather than developing software from scratch.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Junior-to-mid-level professional experience in web content, web design, digital publishing, or a related area.
  • A degree, certificate, or other formal training in web design, digital media, communications, or a related field is preferred but not specified as required.
  • Experience working somewhat independently in a fast-paced, globally coordinated environment is beneficial.

Other Requirements

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid.
  • Location: Lisbon, Portugal.
  • Ideally able to work approximately three days per week onsite at the Lisbon office.
  • Fluent English proficiency is required; translation responsibilities are handled separately.
  • This position requires comfort coordinating work across global time zones and supporting publishing coverage for international websites.
  • This role is focused on web content authoring, page assembly, and publishing—not full-stack development or core software engineering.
