Job Type: Contract / Consulting
Contract Length: TBD
Pay Range: $100-115/hr
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Healthcare/Precision Medicine, is looking for a skilled AI Engineer Consultant to join their team for a consulting engagement. This project involves enhancing and productionizing six existing AI agents built in Python using LangChain (or similar frameworks). These agents are focused on pharmaceutical and clinical data workflows and require optimization, orchestration, and scalability improvements. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- AI Agent Optimization & Development: Assess, refactor, and enhance 6 existing AI agents, optimizing prompt engineering, memory handling, and implementing multi-agent coordination patterns.
- Production & Scalability: Transition prototype agents into production-ready services, enhancing performance and implementing MLOps best practices, including versioning, logging, and monitoring.
- Data Integration & Explainability: Improve how agents interact with APIs, EHR-related data, and scientific data sources, ensuring outputs are clinically relevant, explainable, and actionable.
- LLM Integration & Accuracy: Fine-tune or integrate LLMs and domain-specific models, improving model accuracy using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and domain grounding.
- Compliance: Align AI systems with healthcare regulatory expectations (FDA, HIPAA considerations) and ensure auditability and data privacy.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 3–7+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with production deployments.
- Deep expertise in Strong Python development skills; Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar agent frameworks; and familiarity with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Experience building and optimizing AI agents/multi-agent systems.
- Experience deploying AI systems as APIs, microservices, or on cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and partner with bioinformaticians, data scientists, and product stakeholders.
