Job Type: Contract (W2 Only)
Contract Length: 3 months
Pay Range: $60 - $65/hr
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid - Oakland, CA
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in FinTech, is looking for skilled AI Workflow Engineers to join their team for a 3-month engagement. This project involves building, improving, and QA-ing AI-powered agents and skills to automate workflows across their marketing ecosystem. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building new skills and agents that automate marketing, analytics, and operational workflows.
- QA-ing and improving existing skills—testing edge cases, fixing data pipeline issues, and ensuring outputs are accurate and reliable.
- Partnering with stakeholders (marketers, analysts, engineers) to identify high-impact workflow bottlenecks and translate them into AI skill specifications.
- Writing and optimizing SQL for BigQuery-backed skills that query campaign performance, audience segmentation, and member data.
- Contributing to the skill platform itself by improving the skill builder, evaluation pipeline, and governance framework.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2–5 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related technical field.
- Deep expertise in Claude and Cursor, including hands-on experience building out automated workflows inside one or both of these tools. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Strong SQL skills (Google BigQuery preferred) and familiarity with data pipelines and ETL concepts.
- Experience with GitHub (version control, PRs, CI/CD).
- Excellent communication skills—you'll be working directly with non-technical marketers and translating their needs into technical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Comfort with ambiguity; you'll need to investigate and translate partially documented or tribal-knowledge workflows into structured, repeatable automations.
