About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is looking for a skilled Application Engineer to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves designing, creating, and maintaining critical internal applications, integrations, and processes that support physical product design, manufacturing, logistics, and inventory systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, improve architecture standards, and ensure data integrity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain robust backend components, processes, and integrations, primarily using Python.
- Infrastructure & Deployment: Deploy and manage cloud resources using Terraform and contribute to internal git repositories.
- Full-Stack Support: Develop frontend components using JS, React, and TypeScript to support internal tools and dashboards.
- System Architecture: Design system requirements for new and existing applications, while establishing company-wide standards to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee major application installations, upgrades, and provide high-quality support and training to internal customers.
- Code Quality: Perform peer code reviews and implement security best practices across all applications.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Deep expertise in Python and web frameworks (Flask, Django) and API development (GraphQL, REST).
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB) and ORM libraries like SQLAlchemy.
- Proficiency in Cloud (AWS) development and deployment, as well as Docker or similar container-based systems.
- General frontend development knowledge (React, TypeScript).
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with an ability to collect requirements from internal stakeholders and provide effective support.
