About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Automotive Technology, is looking for a skilled Applications Engineer to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves supporting and advancing the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Apps within the IT Applications team, customizing and maintaining these applications in a fast-paced startup environment. Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with stakeholders on features, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
- Managing workflows, change management, approvals, and signoff for in-application configurations.
- Developing custom integrations using Java and Python and evaluating new tools and services.
- Developing dashboards and Live Reports that support engineering and management needs using Velocity and Javascript.
- Updating template/project configurations, workflows, and work item meta data.
- Monitoring application performance via established practices and methods.
- Acting as an escalation point for the Client Services team (helpdesk).
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Development experience in Java, Javascript, Velocity, and Python.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, Postgres).
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and technical issues.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and open to flexible hours (i.e., weekends).
- Experience using Polarion within a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, financial, automotive, etc) is preferred, but not required.
