Title:  AWS Solutions Architect - EventBridge
Job Type:  Contract
Contract Length:  8 Weeks
Pay Range:  $90-$110/hr
Start Date:  6/8/26
Location:  100% Remote. EST Working Hours.

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in Enterprise Technology, is looking for a skilled AWS Solutions Architect - EventBridge  to join their team for an 8-week engagement. This project involves a technical discovery and due diligence engagement to define the proposed system architecture for a new enterprise order management system for a multi-billion dollar company. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Drafting the proposed system architecture and creating the technical blueprint for the subsequent build phase.
  • Defining system boundaries and designing a microservices architecture.
  • Establishing API design standards and integration definitions.
  • Providing deep expertise in designing and implementing event-driven architectures, with a specific focus on AWS EventBridge.
  • Defining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, specifically for Terraform design.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Deep experience with core AWS services, event-driven architectures, AWS EventBridge, and API Gateway. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Strong background in IaC, particularly best practices for Terraform design.
  • Expertise in serverless compute (AWS Lambda) implementation best practices, including addressing startup time issues related to Java Lambdas, and familiarity with Python or Node development environments.
  • Experience with greenfield design projects, particularly for a core platform for a multi-billion dollar company.
  • Direct experience building and integrating Order Management Systems (OMS), including managing complex integration challenges with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of core OMS capabilities, including order intake, fulfillment tracking, inventory syncs, managing state across distributed components, billing, and freight calculations.
  • Demonstrated ability to own the technical direction and create a technical blueprint for the build phase.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
