About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Enterprise Data Center Operations and Infrastructure, is looking for a skilled Datacenter Engineer to join their team for an 8-month engagement. This project involves hands-on support for mission-critical facilities, including the redesign of data center operations and integrating new technologies. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor data center operations and check for emergent alerts through monitoring platforms.
- Perform rack and stack installations, ensuring proper power and asset management.
- Perform troubleshooting and in-depth repairs of hardware and hypervisor issues, following documented processes.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with the datacenter capacity team and R&D personnel.
- Work within the Phoenix site through cabling, monitoring, and team building activities.
- Assist as part of a team of on-site contacts for the Networking, Automation, and Capacity teams.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role in data center operations or related field.
- Deep expertise in asset management and infrastructure monitoring systems. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, leveraging strong coordination skills for complex tasks.
- Experience following documented processes to provide hardware and logistic troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with data center tools, office productivity software, and ticket management systems.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 100 lbs) with assistance.
