Title:  Datacenter Engineer

Contract Length:  8 months
Pay Range:  $40-$45/hr
Start Date:  ASAP
Location:  Fully On-site in Phoenix, AZ

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in Enterprise Data Center Operations and Infrastructure, is looking for a skilled Datacenter Engineer  to join their team for an 8-month engagement. This project involves hands-on support for mission-critical facilities, including the redesign of data center operations and integrating new technologies. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Monitor data center operations and check for emergent alerts through monitoring platforms.
  • Perform rack and stack installations, ensuring proper power and asset management.
  • Perform troubleshooting and in-depth repairs of hardware and hypervisor issues, following documented processes.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with the datacenter capacity team and R&D personnel.
  • Work within the Phoenix site through cabling, monitoring, and team building activities.
  • Assist as part of a team of on-site contacts for the Networking, Automation, and Capacity teams.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role in data center operations or related field.
  • Deep expertise in asset management and infrastructure monitoring systems. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, leveraging strong coordination skills for complex tasks.
  • Experience following documented processes to provide hardware and logistic troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with data center tools, office productivity software, and ticket management systems.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 100 lbs) with assistance.
