Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 3 months
Pay Range: $80 - $100/hr
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid - Bay Area Preferred (Remote with occasional office visits)
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the Retail industry, is looking for a skilled EDI Process Consultant to join their team for a 3 months engagement. This project involves consolidating disparate EDI process documentation into a single, user-friendly handbook, bringing together information currently scattered across departments like Supply Chain and Finance. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collect and consolidate existing EDI process documentation from various cross-functional business partners.
- Develop a comprehensive, user-friendly EDI handbook that clearly translates complex specifications, such as the difference between 810 and 850 EDI documents, into an easily accessible guide.
- Structure the information in a consolidated "how-to" format to streamline processes for end-users.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather all necessary information and ensure the final documentation is accurate and complete.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes and documentation.
- Deep expertise in translating complex, scattered organizational processes into structured, user-friendly business documentation. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to collect information from various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates.
- Ability to be available remotely for stakeholder needs, with flexibility to occasionally come into the office (e.g., once a week or once every other week) in the Bay Area to close out processes.
