About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Manufacturing Test Engineering, is looking for a skilled Electrical Drafter to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves building robust, data-centric automated testing equipment for power electronics and battery manufacturing lines. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist Engineers with schematic capture tasks such as redline updates and panel layout.
- Create electrical schematics and layout drawings in EPLAN or AutoCAD as per national codes and standards (UL508A, NFPA79, NEC, etc.) for power and control panels.
- Create EPLAN macros and parts for internal standard parts list with close attention to detail to align with physical wiring requirements.
- Specify wire and cable color and sizing per standards such as UL508A.
- Manage bills of material (BOMs) to ensure proper build of electrical cabinets, field wiring, and pneumatics.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience in creating schematics for industrial machinery.
- Deep expertise in EPLAN P8, including schematic capture and panel layout.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to industrial electrical components such as protection devices, power supplies, safety devices, and test equipment in power and control circuits.
- Exposure to automation in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
