Contract Length: TBD
Pay Range: $100 - $112/hour
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Onsite in Mountain View, CA
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in next-generation artificial intelligence hardware and server platforms, is looking for a motivated Electromechanical Technician / System Integrator to join their team. This project involves developing a high-performance platform for next-generation AI servers, working alongside a team of world-class scientists and engineers. This is a high-impact role that requires a creative problem-solver who can debug, build, and optimize complex systems, and who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty in the lab.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- System Assembly & Integration: Perform physical and functional integration of complex hardware components, including PCBs, sensors, and power modules. Develop and execute Integration Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure module communication.
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing: Build and maintain HIL test benches for rapid prototyping to accelerate system development.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting: Identify, root-cause, and resolve hardware-level bugs, signal integrity issues, and power delivery failures. Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers to diagnose system failures.
- Design Verification: Perform rigorous validation testing against environmental, mechanical, and electrical specifications and document test results to influence future hardware revisions.
- Lab Operations & Support: Manage lab inventory, shipping/receiving, and supply ordering. Monitor and coordinate rental equipment returns and maintain organized, safe, and efficient lab workspaces.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
- Expert-level lab skills, specifically in SMD soldering, cable harness fabrication, and PCB rework.
- Strong ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, interconnect maps, and assembly instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in the "grey area" between design and production.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on building reliable, cohesive systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both software engineers and mechanical designers.
