Engineering Technician

Overview:

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and testing of our innovative software simulation infrastructure. Your expertise in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex hardware systems will directly enable our R&D efforts, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our autonomous vehicle technology. Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in hardware assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as DMM, oscilloscope, and harnessing tools
  • Skilled in building and troubleshooting cable harnesses and managing cable organization
  • Experienced in assembling and diagnosing computers and computer components
  • Knowledge of networking hardware and system integration
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous documentation abilities
  • Capable of lifting 25-30 pounds and working in low-ground wiring environments
  • Comfortable crawling, bending, and maneuvering in tight or low space areas

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools
  • Experience working with automotive electrical systems
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and scripting
  • Knowledge of vehicle system integration and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in hardware/automotive environments
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Engineering, Electronics, or related field (B.S. degree preferred)

Other Requirements:

  • This is an onsite role located in Foster City, CA, requiring 5 days in the office
  • Able to support and track multiple configurations and test platforms
  • Must be capable of occasionally moving computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams in a fast-moving R&D setting
