About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is looking for two skilled Hardware Software Integration Engineers to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project is essential to the execution stage of their vehicle program, where you will oversee the deployment of next-generation compute, sensor, and data networking systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can act as a first responder to triage and debug difficult hardware-software integration issues. Note: This role requires travel within the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and driving the debugging of hardware-software issues to closure, working with cross-functional partners to identify root causes and provide resolutions.
- Overseeing the deployment of next-generation compute, sensor, and data networking systems on the vehicle platform.
- Designing test plans and specifications to support manufacturing operations and ensure hardware systems operate predictably.
- Developing test automation, leveraging in-house analysis tools to improve test coverage and enhance test infrastructure.
- Developing new processes and human workflows to improve fleet stability and providing feedback to engineering teams to improve future product versions.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to determine the root cause of complex issues involving HW, FW, and SW.
- Experience with hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, USB, UART, LIN, I2C, SPI, etc., and related testing/debugging tools.
- Fluency in Python or similar scripting languages, git/version management tools, and SW debugging tools.
- Strong familiarity with requirements and test case development.
