About the Opportunity
Our client, a leader in the Autonomous Vehicle Technology space, is looking for a skilled Hydra Release Engineer to join their team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves maintaining a machine learning model merge queue and releasing new ML models onto autonomous vehicles. In this role, the engineer will work on processes to improve developer efficiency and reduce delays in branch updates. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning a critical piece of maintaining the ML model merge queue and releasing ML models to vehicle.
- Training and releasing ML models weekly, combining all the developer updates.
- Ensuring the development branch is up to date with changes from master and aiding in conflict resolution.
- Creating and implementing processes to track the model merge queue as well as bisecting issues to specific PRs.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering.
- Deep expertise in C++ and/or Python programming. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Experience with git and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
Experience with any of the following:
- Executing large scale merge queues (MQs) and bisecting to PRs.
- Machine learning, including kicking off training and understanding results.
- You come from automotive industry
