IT General Controls & Application Controls Specialist
Overview:
Are you an experienced IT audit professional with a passion for enhancing control environments in dynamic, high-growth tech companies? We are seeking a highly skilled IT General Controls & Application Controls Specialist to support our client’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep expertise in ITGCs and ITACs to ensure robust control testing, enhance audit processes, and collaborate seamlessly with internal teams and external auditors. Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 4+ years of IT audit experience, with strong SOX ITGC and ITAC testing background
- Proven hands-on experience designing and executing control test procedures across various technology platforms and financial applications
- Expertise in managing key report testing, including report logic validation, parameter review, and accuracy assessment in a SOX context
- Experience with SOC1 reviews: requesting SOC reports and bridge letters, evaluating controls testing exceptions, and mapping Complementary User Entity Controls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
- Strong professional discretion and integrity handling confidential information
Nice to Have Skills:
- Big 4 public accounting or internal audit background
- CISA or similar professional certification
- Familiarity with AuditBoard or comparable GRC platforms
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Gsheet, etc.) for productivity
- Experience creating process and data flow diagrams with tools like Lucidchart
- Prior exposure to SaaS or tech industry control environments
- Knowledge of COBIT or comparable IT control frameworks
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines
- 4+ years’ experience in IT audit, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth tech environment
- Certification such as CISA is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Location: Palo Alto, CA (onsite)
- Duration: 10 months, with an immediate start preferred
- Work Authorization: W2 only
- Travel: No significant travel expected
- Note: Role is onsite in Palo Alto; remote work not available for this position
