About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Autonomous Vehicle Technology, is looking for a skilled Lidar Software Test Engineer to join their team for a 6 months engagement. This project involves developing, optimizing, and maintaining the testing software that the Advanced Hardware Engineering Lidar Team relies on. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain the testing software for the Lidar Team.
- Develop a scalable codebase while building robust tools and scripts crucial for hardware testing and data analysis.
- Ensure contributions have a direct and significant impact on team efficiency and data quality.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in software or computer engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python.
- Experience with software development for hardware control and mass data processing.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
- Experience in developing software tools, packet decoders, and PCAP parsers.
- Experience organizing, structuring, optimizing, and maintaining a codebase, promoting scalability and usability for tool users.
- Excellent documentation and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Experience working with large-scale data processing and analysis systems.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Previous experience in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry.
- W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
