Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability

Overview:
Join an innovative team as a Mechanical Engineer focused on Serviceability, where you will play a pivotal role in optimizing vehicle design and maintenance processes for a cutting-edge mobility company. You will lead efforts in evaluating and enhancing the design for ease of service, collaborating across departments to improve repair efficiency, reduce costs, and support fleet management. This is an exciting opportunity to influence vehicle lifecycle performance and drive impactful engineering solutions in a fast-paced, pioneering environment.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4 to 6 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within a service engineering context
  • Strong 3D CAD experience; CATIA proficiency a plus
  • Ability to design for various fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Solid understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proven documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the capability to manage projects independently

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems for maintenance and operational data management
  • Prior work in the automotive industry
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in service engineering, vehicle design, or related sectors

Other Requirements:

  • Onsite role in Foster City, CA; 5 days per week, 8am to 5pm
  • W2 employment status only
  • Ability to evaluate design for repairability, accessibility, and ergonomics
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, and Prototyping teams
  • Willingness to participate in process improvements and develop maintenance and inspection programs
