Title:  Microsoft API Consultant
Job Type:  Contract
Contract Length:  4-8 weeks
Target Start Date:  ASAP
Work Location/Structure:  Remote

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in AI Logistics, is looking for a skilled  Microsoft API Consultant  to join their team for a 4-8 weeks engagement. This project involves researching and implementing a technical prototype leveraging Microsoft's enterprise APIs to enhance the client’s data protection and recovery capabilities. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Functional PoC:  Deliver a working codebase demonstrating data extraction, analysis, and transfer for high volumes of unstructured data using Microsoft APIs.
  • Performance & Scalability Report:  Produce detailed documentation on throughput results, latency, and the specific limitations/quotas of the APIs encountered during testing.
  • Technical Design Doc:  Create a concise architecture document outlining the "how" and "why" behind your implementation.
  • Executive Summary:  Provide a final presentation/briefing of findings and recommendations for Engineering Leadership.
  • API Deep-Diving:  Navigate complex Microsoft documentation to identify the most efficient endpoints for data movement and security telemetry.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in a similar software consulting or engineering role.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Graph API, including advanced data extraction and metadata analysis across M365 (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, OneDrive). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Experience with:
    • Optimizing for high-volume unstructured data transfer while navigating API limits.
    • Rapid prototyping to transition high-level research goals into a functional codebase that proves feasibility.
    • Proactively identifying where Microsoft throttling or permission structures (Entra ID) will impact scale.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
