About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Autonomous Vehicle Technology, is looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to join their team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves helping ensure the security of our customers, staff, systems, communications, and data, and supporting the implementation, maintenance and upkeep of network security systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the implementation, maintenance and upkeep of network security systems, including firewalls, URL filtering, IDS/IPS, network access control, remote access VPN, and similar systems.
- Contributing to architecture, design, and implementation work as we mature the network security programs, processes, and practices.
- Engineering & administration for Next Generation Firewall/UTM devices.
- Engineering & administration for AWS Network Security.
- Engineering & administration for Network Access Control (802.1X).
- Engineering & administration for Remote Access VPN.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of Network Security Engineer experience supporting production environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS network security services (3+ years hands-on experience), practical knowledge of PKI, cryptography, and certificates, strong understanding of OSI model (all layers), strong understanding of Layer-7 protection techniques as relates to network security, and strong understanding of AWS Network Firewall, Security Groups, and NACLs, AWS Transit Gateway and VPC architectures. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with 3+ years of IT systems/application engineering/administration experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with members of the Information Security, IT, Product, and Operations teams. Experience with change management and a focus on customer experience as a key component of measuring success is a must.
