About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the autonomous vehicle technology and robotics sector, is looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves supporting the implementation, maintenance, and maturation of their critical network security programs, practices, and systems to ensure the security of customers, staff, systems, communications, and data. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly, with a focus on technical excellence and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engineering and administration for Next Generation Firewall/UTM devices, URL filtering, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Implementation and maintenance of AWS Network Security services and architecture, including Network Firewall, Security Groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, and VPC design.
- Managing and maintaining Network Access Control (802.1X) and Remote Access VPN systems.
- Collaborating closely with Information Security, IT, Product, and Operations teams to contribute to architecture and design work.
- Experience with change management and maintaining a focus on customer experience as a key measure of success.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of Network Security Engineer experience supporting production environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS network security services and hands-on experience with core network security systems (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, VPN). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with change management and a strong understanding of PKI, cryptography, and certificates.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team, and a deep understanding of the OSI model and Layer-7 protection techniques.
