About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in advanced technology and autonomous systems, is looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to join their team for a 6 months engagement. This project involves supporting the implementation, maintenance, and upkeep of comprehensive network security systems and contributing to architecture and design work as the company matures its network security programs, processes, and practices. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engineer and administer core network security solutions, including Next Generation Firewall/UTM devices, URL filtering, IDS/IPS, and Remote Access VPN.
- Design, implement, and maintain the Network Access Control (802.1X) system.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute significantly to architecture and design work for maturing network security programs.
- Administer and secure AWS cloud environments, focusing on AWS Network Firewall, Security Groups, NACLs, AWS Transit Gateway, and VPC architectures.
- Collaborate with Information Security, IT, Product, and Operations teams while adhering to change management processes and maintaining a focus on customer experience.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of Network Security Engineer experience supporting production environments.
- 6+ years of IT systems/application engineering/administration experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS network security services.
- Deep expertise in Network Fundamentals: Strong understanding of the entire OSI model and Layer-7 protection techniques as they relate to network security.
- Security Fundamentals: Practical knowledge of PKI, cryptography, and certificates.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
