Pay Range:  $30-35/hour
Start Date:  ASAP
Location:  Onsite (Foster City, CA) – 5 days in office

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in the autonomous vehicle and robotics industry, is looking for a skilled QA Engineer  to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves enhancing product software quality by designing and executing comprehensive test plans and building automated testing frameworks. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can dive deep into system behavior, perform hands-on debugging, and drive quality milestones to closure independently.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing, developing, and executing detailed test plans and test cases for Product Software QA features.
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts using Python to improve testing efficiency.
  • Performing hands-on testing of product software systems and conducting deep-dive analysis into system behavior and logs to root-cause failures.
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects through to resolution, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
  • Taking full ownership of test coverage for assigned features and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure all quality milestones are met.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proficiency in Python programming, specifically for test automation and scripting.
  • Experience with test frameworks (such as pytest) and a strong ability to dive deep into complex systems to debug and diagnose failures.
  • A demonstrated ownership mindset—you proactively identify gaps in test coverage and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Android development or testing experience is considered an added advantage.

  • W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
