About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is looking for a skilled QA Release Engineer to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project focuses on driving process improvements to the perception development process, acting as a force multiplier to streamline the path from idea to implementation, testing, and deployment. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, squash development inefficiencies, and improve the developer experience to help bring autonomous vehicles to market sooner.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting manual and automated testing of software applications, performing functional, regression, integration, and performance testing, and documenting potential risks or issues.
- Analyzing developer pull requests (PRs) and triaging scenarios flagged for review to ensure code quality.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, designers) to highlight performance regressions and ensure timely defect resolution.
- Improving QA processes continuously to ensure no performance degradation and validating fixes through comprehensive re-testing.
- Supporting the merge process (infra, pipedream jobs, first-pass scenario triage) and helping expedite PR validation to increase developer velocity.
- Providing clear and concise test reports, tracking defects in an organized manner (JIRA), and driving root cause analysis.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of experience in a QA Engineer role or similar software quality assurance position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep expertise in both manual and automated testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
- Proficiency with testing tools such as TestRail (or equivalent) and project management/issue tracking tools like JIRA.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
