Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience within a banking institution, demonstrating a deep understanding of banking financial statements, GAAP, and interest-rate dynamics.
- Axiom or Strata system experience
- Expertise in Financial Modeling: Advanced ability to execute complex planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis models.
- Technical Proficiency: High-level Excel skills; experience with query-based report writing, data validation techniques, and procedural controls.
- Leadership & Development: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train team members to foster professional growth.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex data issues independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to senior and executive leadership.
- Software Experience: Proficiency with FP&A software (Axiom/Strata), core banking systems (COCC), and accounting systems (Prologue).
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated history of enhancing FP&A workflows through automation, dashboarding, and data quality initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Executive Reporting: Review and maintain financial packages for executive management and the Board of Directors.
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct profitability analysis by product, branch, and customer segment; identify performance drivers and recommend actionable solutions.
- Systems Optimization: Partner with IT and Accounting teams to optimize reporting tools and financial systems; drive automation and enhanced dashboarding.
- Data Integrity: Lead data maintenance components of the FP&A process, ensuring accuracy across all planning and reporting models.
- Performance Management: Analyze variances against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods to provide clear insights into business performance.
- Compliance & Support: Support regulatory reporting requirements and audit requests, maintaining a high level of discretion and professionalism.
- Team Development: Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor, training junior team members and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
