Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: Through End of Year 2026
Pay Range: $65–$79/hr
Start Date: 6/8/26
Location: Hybrid (Targeting local candidates who can go onsite 2x per week in Boston, MA)
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the Multi-Strategy Investment Firm sector, is looking for a skilled Scrum Master to join their team for a contract engagement through the end of the year. This role is critical to their Investment group, which manages over $100 billion in assets and operates in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will guide 2-3 engineering teams, ensuring the effective and pragmatic application of the Agile framework. We are seeking a seasoned professional with more than 10 years of Agile experience who knows how to work with and challenge offshore engineering teams. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate team ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure full team engagement with a focus on growing team capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner(s) and teams to support short and long-term planning and maintain a healthy backlog prepared for execution.
- Actively coach teams to increase their skill and understanding of Agile practices and values, championing continuous improvement activities.
- Anticipate and address impediments to team function and productivity, and help manage interdependencies between agile teams.
- Provide guidance and coaching to various organizational positions (directors, managers, product owners, team members) to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Prior experience working in Investment companies or with investing products is highly desirable, given the financial, regulated nature of the business.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and effectively challenge offshore engineering teams.
- A pragmatic approach to Agile; must know how to use the framework effectively in a real-world environment.
- Solid knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices and Agile project management concepts, practices, and techniques.
- Agile certification preferred.
- Solid project and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
