About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is looking for a skilled Sensor System Validation Engineer to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves contributing to the verification and validation (V&V) activities for next-generation sensor architectures. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with systems, software, and sensor hardware engineers to create and iterate V&V methodologies for next-generation sensor architectures (lidar, camera, radar).
- Designing and executing test plans in simulation environments to verify sensing systems requirements and validate system-level performance.
- Translating bounding scenario requirements into actionable data mining plans and executing them to create validation datasets.
- Integrating and orchestrating software pipelines to convert sensor data into system-level KPIs.
- Writing reusable sensor systems analysis and test automation software (Python and/or C++).
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Ph.D. degree in a relevant field OR a master’s degree in engineering with 3+ years of work experience in sensor/perception systems development and/or testing.
- Demonstrated experience with at least one sensor modality: camera, lidar, or radar.
- Proficiency in Data Mining (SQL, PySpark, Scala, or similar).
- Experience analyzing data using Python or other high-level languages (e.g., Matlab, C++).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
