Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid - Foster City, CA
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Automotive Technology, is looking for a skilled Sensor Systems Engineer to join their team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves improving the requirement traceability of the existing sensor architecture and defining top-down requirements to guide investigation into the next generation sensor architecture. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identify, define, and analyze bounding use cases and challenging scenarios for the autonomous driving system.
- Develop and document nominal system requirements for the autonomy sensor suite (including cameras, radar, and lidar) based on detailed analysis.
- Perform trade studies and analysis to evaluate different system architectures and sensor configurations against known requirements.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to ensure that the system design meets all documented requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, requirements analysis, or a similar role in the autonomous vehicle, aerospace, or robotics industry.
- Deep expertise in defining and analyzing complex systems and scenarios, combined with a strong understanding of sensor technologies, including cameras, radar, and lidar. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Experience using Python or other high-level languages (e.g., Matlab) for analysis.
