About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the healthcare technology and diagnostics industry, is looking for a motivated Snowflake and Data Operations Support Associate to join their Data Engineering Support and Operations team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves providing critical day-to-day operational support for enterprise Snowflake environments, including user access management, cost monitoring, and performance optimization. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, work independently, and contribute to production support alongside experienced data engineering professionals.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day Tier 1 operational support for Snowflake environments, including handling support tickets for access requests and user provisioning.
- Monitoring Snowflake costs and usage through dashboards and resource monitors to identify optimization opportunities.
- Supporting Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) implementation by managing user access, roles, and permissions.
- Participating in an on-call rotation to provide production support and incident response for Snowflake and related data platforms.
- Collaborating with data engineering teams to troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support ETL/ELT processes.
- Assisting with Snowflake query performance troubleshooting and optimization.
- Documenting procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps in runbooks and knowledge base articles.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2-3 years of IT experience with exposure to cloud data platforms, databases, or data engineering environments.
- Intermediate experience with Snowflake administration, configuration, or support.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL, database concepts, and familiarity with Linux/Python scripting for automation.
- Exposure to cloud services (AWS: S3, EC2, Lambda) and tools such as Apache Airflow, Oracle, MySQL, Terraform, and Git/GitHub.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to document technical processes clearly.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to integrate quickly into existing teams and contribute independently with minimal supervision.
