About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Technology, is looking for a skilled Sr. Payroll Administrator – U.S. & Canada to join their team for a 6 months engagement. This project involves assisting with managing end-to-end payroll processing for employees across the United States and Canada, focusing on accuracy, compliance, and system management using ADP and Workday. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Payroll Processing: Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees using ADP and Workday, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, overtime, commissions, and special payments.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, provincial, and local laws, and prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including year-end documents such as W-2s, T4s, and ROEs.
- System & Data Management: Maintain employee records and assist with system updates, testing, and troubleshooting payroll-related issues in Workday and ADP.
- Audit Support: Support audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries, and staying current on regulatory changes affecting payroll operations.
- Employee Support: Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll policies, providing guidance and exceptional customer service.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5–10+ years of payroll experience, including U.S. and Canadian payroll processing.
- Deep expertise/Proficiency with ADP (Workforce Now or similar) and Workday payroll modules. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal/state and Canadian federal/provincial payroll laws, with experience in multi-state and multi-province payroll.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills to validate timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- CPP or FPC certification (U.S. or Canadian) is a plus.
- W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
