About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Healthcare Technology/R&D Diagnostic Software, is looking for a skilled Sr. Software QA Engineer to join their team for an 18-month engagement. This project involves helping to build the next generation of world-class diagnostic software by bringing deep experience in full-stack software quality assurance, test automation, and modern testing practices across UI, API, and performance layers. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Framework Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites across the full application stack.
- Test Automation: Create and maintain automated UI, API, and performance tests using tools like Cypress, k6, and Runscope to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Strategic Evolution: Contribute to and evolve test strategies that support regression coverage, rapid feedback, and continuous delivery within an agile environment.
- Risk Partnership: Partner closely with developers and product managers to identify quality risks early and often, and assess/improve test coverage.
- Best Practices: Develop and promote QA best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software QA and test automation.
- Deep expertise in Cypress, k6 (performance/load testing), Runscope (API testing), and proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with testing modern web applications across frontend, backend, and API layers, including experience testing REST APIs and asynchronous testing for distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team and experience working within CI/CD pipelines and supporting continuous delivery practices.
