About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the Global Technology Organization, is looking for a skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join their team for a contract engagement through the end of the year. This project involves leading strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating high-value IT contracts, and driving continuous cost reduction strategies across assigned IT spend categories. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Sourcing Initiatives: Lead the development of strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate price, terms, and quality requirements with suppliers for complex IT products and services, including IT Hardware, Software, Telecommunications, and IT Consulting & Services.
- Category Management: Manage assigned IT spend categories and the associated suppliers, ensuring the sourcing strategy aligns with organizational goals and delivers significant financial impact.
- Contract & Risk Management: Deliver value-added category management activities which include contract management, supplier performance/risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with all levels of internal IT stakeholders to transform business requirements into actionable scopes of work/specifications and drive new cost reduction initiatives.
- Best Practice Implementation: Support the global IT organization in implementing best practices across all phases of contracting processes for IT products and services.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, and/or Category Management associated with Information Technology (IT).
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing and strong negotiation skills. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience managing complex projects, developing long-standing internal business partnerships, and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
