About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Technology and Autonomous Systems, is looking for a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical LV System to join their team for a 6 months engagement. This project involves ensuring world-class performance of the prototype and production supply base, driving continuous improvement, and focusing on quality issues related to electrical low voltage systems and wiring harness manufacturing. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaise between Supplier Quality, Incoming Quality Control, Engineering, and the Supplier on key quality issues.
- Provide onsite support to validate the implementation of containments and corrective actions, and assess new/late product designs.
- Develop prototype Control Plan and PFMEA, perform regular audits, and drive gap closures.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools.
- Review prototype and production part quality document submissions from suppliers, providing necessary feedback.
- Review the Root Cause Analysis and provide technical support if needed.
- Improve supplier quality processes such as assessments, supplier management, and part approval.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing, preferably in the automotive, aviation, or medical device industries.
- Deep expertise in manufacturing processes such as PCB/PCBA, Wiring harnesses, Electro mechanical assemblies, and Electrical components.
- Strong working knowledge of vehicle harness manufacturing, Wire harness diagrams, EDI, and IPC620 (highly preferred).
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and creating and improving quality systems.
- Proficiency using quality analysis and control tools such as Process FMEAs, Process Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
- Experience using problem-solving techniques such as Six-Sigma, 8-Discipline, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO 9000 and IATF 16949, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
