Job Type: Contract (Part-Time)
Contract Length: 9 Months
Pay Range: $65 - $93 / hour
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote or Hybrid (3 days/week in Palo Alto, CA)
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Global Technology Solutions, is looking for a skilled Systems Administrator (Identity & Domain Transition) to join their team for a 9-month, part-time (20 hours/week) engagement. This project involves supporting a critical, identity-focused domain migration, requiring high-level analysis and backfilling Business-As-Usual (BAU) SysAdmin operations to ensure seamless IT infrastructure performance. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Impact and Identity Analysis: Evaluate how UPN and email domain changes will impact existing systems; perform identity mapping and validation of attribute updates flowing into Entra ID.
- Documentation and Risk Mitigation: Map identity dependencies across Entra ID and connected services; identify risks and remediation steps, and maintain up-to-date system documentation.
- Stakeholder Management: Work with application owners to confirm current system behaviors and report findings to the Project Lead.
- BAU Operations and Infrastructure Support: Maintain daily SysAdmin operations across Windows, M365, and core IT infrastructure.
- Access and Authentication Management: Manage identity-related tasks, including account updates, access troubleshooting, group management, and resolving authentication issues.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Deep expertise in Entra ID management, including deep knowledge of identity attributes (UPN, proxy addresses, Object ID) and strong understanding of authentication protocols (SAML/OIDC). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with system analysis, including proven experience reviewing application-user matching and the ripple effects of identity changes, and robust troubleshooting across Windows and enterprise-grade M365 environments.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team and manage application owner stakeholders.
