Title:  Systems Engineer / Process Coach (Requirements Focus)
Job Type:  Contract
Contract Length:  12–16 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Pay Range:  $50-75/hr
Start Date:  ASAP
Location:  Onsite (within 2-hour radius of US Eastern hub)

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in Advanced Systems Engineering/Robotics, is looking for a skilled Systems Engineer / Process Coach  to join their team for a 12–16 week engagement. This project is critical to elevating the team's systems engineering process maturity while executing core technical tasks. The ideal candidate will act as a hybrid "Coach/Systems Engineer." This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly. (Higher rates are open for candidates with exact, high-level skillsets.)

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Guiding the team and executing tasks to elevate the current, low-maturity systems engineering processes.
  • Serving as the technical lead and hands-on contributor for systems execution.
  • Leading the effort in writing, documenting, and managing comprehensive system needs and requirements with exceptional precision.
  • Articulating complex technical requirements and concepts to a team with varying levels of systems maturity.
  • Ensuring technical execution aligns with project goals while maintaining flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience as a seasoned engineer in Systems Engineering, or early-career with a Master's degree and high potential.
  • Deep expertise in writing needs and requirements. This isn't a learning role—you must be highly skilled and passionate about this key competency.
  • Formal training and a degree in Systems Engineering (graduates of the MIT SDM program are highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively articulate technical requirements and act as a mentor/coach to the project team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-changing work environment.
